The rhythms of reggae and ska will fill the evening skies of July 5th at the Summer Beach Party in Puerto Peñasco, which is to include The Hourglass Cats, Clairevoyant, Ruca, and La Tomasa Ska Band along with special guests Mister, Lost, and The Summer. The evening begins at 4 p.m. on the terrace of Playa Bonita Hotel, with proceeds from ticket sales going to the year-round charitable efforts of The Santa Claus Club.
The Hourglass Cats from Phoenix describe themselves as a “funky, fresh, Latin Reggae and Rock ‘n Roll band”, while Chandler based Clairevoyant offers a mix of reggae/ska/alternative/Latin and explains its name as “the give of being able to brighten people’s lives and spread positivity. Haley Grigaitis of Ruca is a “blue-eyed reggae soul from Cave Creek”, described by the Phoenix New Times just last year as “one of the Valley’s best-kept secrets, a singer with strong, emotive vocals…” Along with the ska, rock, and reggae sounds of La Tomasa Ska Band hailing from Mexicali, Baja California, the Summer Beach Party groove will ring out across the Sea of Cortez and well into the night.
